Meet Your Nutritionist.

LINDSEY MILLER

MS, CNS, LDN

I am the proud mother of three school-age children. I have varied passions - travel, the great outdoors, cooking, hiking, skiing, reading, and overall adventure. I love food (obviously), the beach, and educating people about the miracle of our bodies and how to best treat them!

I look forward to exploring the individual connections between your body and brain, and to working with you to alleviate the biochemical causes of mental health afflictions.

Q&A with Lindsey.

What do I eat? Pretty much everything. The truth is, I love food. And I love a variety of foods. I also love to cook, though of course there are days I pull something simple out of the freezer to heat up or pick up a rotisserie chicken.

What are your favorite things to eat/drink? I really love anything Mediterranean, Asian cooking, Latin fusion, tapas, shellfish, tacos, dark chocolate, coffee, seltzer, red wine, and the list goes on…

Is there anything you don’t eat? I try and listen to my body and limit my intake of foods that make me feel crappy, physically and/or mentally. I usually stay away from fried foods and try to limit my dairy intake, although I’m a sucker for cheese.

What does my family eat? Also, pretty much everything. Luckily everyone is pretty adventurous when it comes to eating, though the hubs doesn’t like tofu and the kids don’t like mushrooms. I try to bring a never-before-tasted piece of produce into the house every few weeks for a taste-test.

What’s in my fridge? Exactly what’s in there depends on the week (and season). You’ll find eggs, Greek yogurt, a wide variety of nuts and seeds, nut milks, multiple mustards, cheeses and meats, and lots of produce. I aim to largely empty out the fridge each week before shopping.

What’s a favorite? Currently you can find a shelf full of hot sauces with my current favorites being “The Hawaiian Ghost” sold at a local roadside stand and made from garden peppers and “Stick ‘em up! Mango Habanero” glaze available at local farmer’s markets.

BBX ORIGINS. HOW IT ALL STARTED.

Believe it or not, I actually have Leonardo DiCaprio to thank for my initial interest in nutrition. Several years ago I was watching an environmental documentary (which Leo happened to be the host of) with my husband, when he exclaimed we should become weekday vegetarians. Because I love food and cooking, I jumped at this healthful challenge and started devouring nutrition texts and plant-based cookbooks.

A new passion was ignited….
